Purchasing Purchasing
The purchasing of goods or services is supported at CERN by the WOS software. WOS is sold by Qualiac - Inference.
WOS manages Contracts, Orders, Deliveries and Invoices. Purchasing data is fed into WOS, the CERN accountancy system, purchased from the same company.
Upstream WOS, AIS has designed and developed a Web based tool, CFU, to allow the monitoring of all CERN Purchase Procedures. This Contracts Follow Up application supports Divisional Requests, Market Surveys, Invitation to Tenders, Price Enquiries that eventually lead to Contracts.
The CERN Stores manage the Stores replenishment Contracts using CFU and BAAN 4 . Baan 4 is sold by BAAN.
Another data querying, analysis and reporting tool called Business Objects is also provided to Divisional Computing Support persons to create and provide ad-hoc reports which do not exist in other tools.
