CERN provides services and support to external persons or bodies:
External firm staff: Persons working at CERN on the behalf of external firms in the frame of Industrial Services contracts are registered into Oracle * HR , mainly for the provision of their access cards and the check up of their work permits.
All external firms, most of them suppliers, which CERN is dealing with, are uniquely identified and registered in WOS , the Purchasing software purchased from Qualiac Inference.
Services are also provided to Teams, as group of people, who participate to a CERN experiment on behalf of an Institute. The list of teams is available, on the Web, via the Greybook.
Teams accounts are special entities, set up for the Institutes taking part in the CERN experiments, for budgeting/accountancy purposes. Team accounts are maintained in WOS, the accountancy software (also from Qualiac).
Another data querying, analysis and reporting tool called Business Objects is also provided to Divisional Computing Support persons to create and provide ad-hoc reports which do not exist in other tools.
EDH is used to deal with payments to third parties and accounting/invoices for removals, etc...
The CET application allows teams expenditure and supplier expenditure reporting.
