CERN manages absences of the paid Members of Personel. All types of leaves are kept track of, such as annual leave, compensation leave, leave for training, familiy events etc ....

In addition CERN keeps a record of overtime hours so that these may be compensated or paid within the Payroll.

For people who do not work that 'standard CERN hours' but follow special time patterns, such as part time contracts, CERN keeps track of specific working hours.

EDH is the in-house developed software which is used to manage time at CERN. It is tightly interfaced to Payroll for payment of overtime hours and monthly credits to leave accounts. Oracle*HR is used as an interface between the 2 systems.

Go to the EDH desktop to make a new leave request, to check your leave accounts balances or to get an overview of planned absences in your group/division ..

The Leave Management System is in place since 01-OCT-2000. With LMS, the Payroll system credits monthly every employee in 4 different leave accounts.
